TRUMP DELIVERS AT THE SOTU 2019

Cole Rainey     02/11/2019

--President Trump successfully delivered a unifying, charismatic speech with an America

first message that has proven to resonate with the people.

CBS news’ poll revealed that 75% of viewers approved of the speech, shocking considering MSM’s constant smear campaign on President Trump. The State of the Union successfully pulled Americans together on a variety of important, unifying matters. Whether it be fighting childhood cancer, honoring veterans (particularly of WW2), fighting AIDS, honoring the newly elected women of congress and subsequently getting a unified USA chant between Democrats and Republicans or criminal justice reform. Trump successfully bound Americans together through common interest. This was highly unlikely due to the political climate being so hot in Washington D.C. currently.

Donald J Trump is playing 4D chess against the deep state and the left. Proclaiming “America will never be a socialist nation!” starkly dividing the neo-liberals and democratic socialists in congress. Neo-liberals like Jon Tester, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi stood and applauded for that, whilst extremists like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Bernie Sanders sat with a look of disgust on their faces. The Democrats are a fractured party, and President Trump exposed that.

President Trump touted his achievements throughout the speech, pointing out that African American, Hispanic and Asian unemployment have all reached their lowest levels ever. Also pointing out that more people are working now than at any period of our country’s history. Also proclaiming the United States is the number one exporter of oil in the entire world. These achievements didn’t draw applause from the Democrats. Neither did President Trump proclaiming that he wanted to take on human traffickers and coyotes crossing the southern border. Democrats hate the President so much they refuse to applaud at the big achievements he’s made.

Trump claimed that the “State of our union is strong”, leading to USA chants echoing throughout the room. Trump also took a shot at the Mueller investigation, proclaiming “The only thing that can stop it (economic miracle) is foolish wars, politics or ridiculous partisan investigations”, he continued “If there is going to be peace and legislation there cannot be war and investigation.” Trump has been enduring the Mueller investigation for 2 years now and they haven’t found anything on Trump. Trump also announced he would be meeting with Kim Jong Un February 27th and 28th in Vietnam.

President Trump called for bipartisan legislation and pointed out bipartisan legislation already achieved during the Trump presidency. He boasted that Democrats and Republicans have passed Opioid legislation, a new farm bill, VA reforms and VA accountability as well as criminal justice reform. Trump had Alice Johnson attend the SOTU, in 1997 Alice was sentenced to life in prison as a first time offense non-violent drug offender. Trump commuted her sentence and used her as an example as to what he is doing as far as criminal justice reform.

The First Step Act was a bipartisan bill that reformed sentencing laws, it gives non-violent drug offenders a second chance to reenter society. Trump also had Matthew Charles from Tennessee, who was sentenced to 35 years for selling drugs. Matthew was the very first person to be released from prison following the First Step Act. His story exemplifies what the First Step Act has done for so many.

Ivanka Trump and Democrat women of congress wore white to honor the suffragettes who fought for women’s right to vote 100 years ago. The Democrat women of congress applauded Trump honoring the newly elected women of congress. That’s about all they applauded for. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez sat for nearly every ovation, making it a spectacle all about herself. Her refusal to clap represents the resist Trump movement, as no matter what the Trump administration accomplishes they would always rather have their radical socialist agenda implemented.

In order to address the human trafficking epidemic at our southern border, President Trump brought in Elvin Hernandez, a human trafficking agent in DHS. Elvin told President Trump, “If you (Trump) can make sure these young girls get their justice, then you’ve (Trump) really done your job.” President Trump then went on to announce that more than 300 women and girls have been rescued and more than 1,500 traffickers have been put behind bars. He also pledged never to abolish ICE, which 2020 hopefuls like Kamala Harris have called for.

President Trump opened and closed the speech by honoring World War 2 veterans and holocaust victims. He introduced holocaust survivor Judah Samet, who also survived the Tree of Life synagogue attack in Pittsburg. It was his 81st birthday, so the entire congress and all those in attendance sang him happy birthday. Judah was put on a train and was sent off to presumably death to a concentration camp. But the wheels came screeching to a halt and Judah was rescued by American troops. Another holocaust survivor, Joshua Koffman was introduced. He remembered watching through a hole in the wall American troops coming to rescue him. They had the WW2 vet that helped rescue Joshua from that concentration camp. It was a touching moment when President Trump honored them for their sacrifice and service to our country.

President Trump asked congress to choose “greatness” over “gridlock” and put the needs of the American people over the differences between the two parties. Compromise has been the cornerstone of American politics since the passage of the bill of rights in the first congress. But the resistance to President Trump remains steadfast in their effort thwart any progress the Trump administration attempts to make. “The state of our union is strong” proclaimed the President, as the Trump administration gains momentum with the American people and solidifies his spot as the 2020 presidential candidate to beat. This speech doubled as a start to the 2020 race and a call to action for congress. A call which will not be received and reciprocated, rather it will be ignored and congress will continue to be in gridlock.
